“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Heb 11:6
Due to recent ministry developments and the acquirement of new staff at Presence, our previous office could no longer accommodate the growing needs of our ministry. We responded to this situation promptly. Although finances have always been a struggle, I silently prayed to God and began my search for a suitable new office.
On the morning of January 22, I woke up and saw an online listing for a nearby office that was listed at warehouse price. The rent was significantly lower than most, and the size was more than twice our current office at the time. I immediately went to view the property. On my way, God reminded me of His guidance all these years and all the hurdles Presence had had to overcome in the past. I felt deeply in awe of God’s providence. Hebrews 11:6 came to mind. I prayed, “Lord, I trust You. Though my faith has been insufficient all these years, I have learned to follow You. Today, we have coworkers who have sacrificed a stable income to join our ministry team with the understanding that funding may not always come through. May You be pleased with and accept our faith offering.”
After many years of learning from struggles, I now rely more fully on God’s promise. Although I have never been motivated by rewards, I boldly petitioned God, “Lord, help us to experience Your promise to reward our faith by granting us the office that we need today.”
As soon as I stepped into that office space, I immediately saw a suitable setting to carry out our trainings. In the course of one day, I excitedly invited my coworkers to view the office, received all board members’ approval, and God even sent two “angels” to lend us the deposit money and prepare the lease contract. Everyone was united in spirit regarding God’s will for us to move. Around six o’clock that day, I signed the lease agreement on behalf of Presence, and our whole team together had witnessed how God “rewards those who earnestly seek Him” by faith.
Reflection Questions:
- What are your greatest needs right now?
- Are you willing to bring all of these to God in faith and experience His guidance and rewards, which surpass man’s expectations?
